Who qualifies
- Household: married, or a single parent with eligible children, with a household income (you and your spouse) of up to RM5,000 a month. There is no age limit.
- Senior citizen without a spouse: aged 60 and above, with an income of up to RM5,000 a month.
- Single: aged 21 to 59 (19 for persons with disabilities registered with JKM), with an income of up to RM2,500 a month, and not a full-time student at a higher education institution. From 2026, this category receives its aid through SARA, not cash.
An application can be rejected if records show, among other things, a luxury vehicle, more houses or businesses than allowed, or a property transaction of RM300,000 or more. The full STR 2027 conditions will be published in LHDN's FAQ.
How to apply or update
Type the address bantuantunai.hasil.gov.my into your browser yourself and log in to MySTR, or fill in form BK-01 at a HASiL office. Applications by e-mail or fax are not accepted. Payments are not backdated: phases paid before your application is approved will not be paid later.
