After applying for or updating your Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) 2027 cash aid, you can only check the result through the official channels of the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN, also known as HASiL). This guide is based on the STR 2027 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) published by HASiL on 15 and 17 Oct 2026 on the official STR portal. For aid amounts and recipient categories, read our STR 2027 article.

The official MySTR portal is in Malay. The button and status names in this guide are English translations of the labels you will see there.

How to check your STR 2027 status on MySTR

You need a MySTR account first. If you have not registered, click MySTR Login, then New User Registration on the official portal. The STR 2027 Status Check FAQ (15 Oct 2026) also encourages registering through the MyDigital ID app.

  1. Type the address bantuantunai.hasil.gov.my yourself and click MySTR Login.
  2. Enter your MyKad number and confirm your security phrase.
  3. Enter your MySTR password.
  4. Click Status Check. The screen shows your application status and payment details, if any.
  5. For payment details, click Payment Information. You will see the phase, amount credited, credit status, bank name and account number.

Forgot your password? According to the Latest Information page on the STR portal, your MySTR ID is blocked after 5 failed attempts at the security questions. You can try again after 24 hours.

You can also check your status through the BKK Hotline, the MOF lines or at a HASiL office (see the contact channels below).

What each STR application status means

These five statuses are explained in the STR 2027 Status Check FAQ (HASiL, 15 Oct 2026):

StatusMeaningCan you update?
Application receivedThe application has been received and is waiting for verification in the order it was submittedYes, until the status changes to In process
In processSTR 2027 eligibility is being checkedNo, until the result is shown
ApprovedThe application meets the eligibility conditions after verificationBasic information only (see below)
Not approvedThe application does not meet the eligibility conditions after verificationYou can appeal
Not eligibleNot explained in the FAQContact the nearest HASiL office

For payment status, Credit successful means the money has gone into the bank account. If the status is Credit failed, the STR 2027 Payment FAQ (17 Oct 2026) asks you to go to a Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branch with your original identity card to claim the cash.

Common reasons an application is Not approved

The STR 2027 Application FAQ (Question 77) lists the reason codes for Not approved. The main reasons include:

Reason (code)Documents for an appeal
Income of the applicant or spouse is above RM5,000, or above RM2,500 for a single person (08–11)None; checked directly with agencies appointed by MOF
Identity details of the applicant or spouse differ from agency data (01–02)None
The child's relationship to the applicant does not match (04)The child's MyKad or MyKid, and birth certificate or adoption certificate
Does not meet the Single conditions (06)JKM OKU card, proof of completing studies or proof of part-time study for 2026/2027
A child over 19 not verified as a full-time student (07)Proof of full-time study or an offer letter, and a 2026/2027 student card
Owns a business, shares or a directorship (14–21)None in Peninsular Malaysia; applicants in Sabah and Sarawak need documents showing the business has closed
Vehicles above the limit (22–24)None in Peninsular Malaysia; the registration certificate for 4x4 pickup trucks such as the Toyota Hilux in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan
Property transactions worth RM300,000 and above (28)None
The applicant or spouse does not live in Malaysia (30–31)A statutory declaration not more than one year old
The applicant or spouse appears in another application (33–35)Marriage or divorce certificate, or the child's birth certificate; this appeal cannot be made online

According to Question 63, vehicles count as above the limit if, for example, you own a car above 2,000 cc that is 7 years old or newer. Electric cars also count regardless of their year, except the Proton e.MAS 5 and Perodua QV-E. For the income reason, Question 55 states that the application is automatically reprocessed in the next phase even if you do not appeal.

How and when to appeal for STR 2027

  1. Log in to MySTR and choose Appeal Form.
  2. Upload supporting documents if your reason requires them (table above).
  3. If you made a mistake, you can still correct the appeal online as long as a HASiL officer has not processed it. After that, correct it at a HASiL office counter.

The FAQ states that a review can be requested all year round after the result is shown. However, the appeal period for each phase is still "to be announced from time to time". Applicants who are Not approved can appeal for Phases 2, 3 and 4. Appeals are not allowed for applications approved in Phase 3 or Phase 4.

Payments are not backdated. According to the Payment FAQ, if your appeal is approved in April 2027, you only receive the Phase 3 and Phase 4 payments.

Updating your bank account, next of kin and household details

Recipients with Approved status can update their basic information all year round through the Update Basic Information menu. This includes phone number, address, email, the bank account of the applicant or spouse, and next of kin.

  • Your own bank account: can be changed to your new account. Payment through a bank cannot be changed to cash.
  • Your spouse's bank account: can only be updated if the previous phase's payment was Credit failed or was paid in cash.
  • Marriage, divorce, a new child or a change in income: if you were approved in Phase 1, these changes are only accepted from February 2027 for Phase 3 (subject to change), through an Additional Appeal.
  • Next of kin for an applicant who has died: must be done at a HASiL office with the death certificate and documents proving the relationship.

The update period for Phase 1 eligibility is October to November 2026, subject to change. Applications made from 1 Dec 2026 count towards Phase 2.

Beware of scams when checking your status

The Warning Notice on the STR portal (Oct 2026) states that HASiL does not send officers to homes to process STR 2027 applications, updates or status checks. HASiL also does not appoint anyone to answer STR questions via WhatsApp or personal phone numbers. There is no charge to apply, update or check your status.

The toll-free line 1-800-88-2747 is not used to make outgoing calls to the public. Call-backs are only made to people who have previously called that line. Enter your MyKad number and password only on a portal whose address you typed yourself, and never share your MySTR password or OTP with anyone. Unsure about a message? Paste its text into the Fake Aid Message Checker.

What it means for you

  • Check your status on MySTR after applying. If it still shows Application received, you can still correct your details.
  • If you are Not approved, look at the reason code and prepare the required documents before the appeal period for the next phase is announced.
  • Make sure your bank account is active to avoid Credit failed.
  • Not sure which category you are in? Try the STR 2027 Eligibility Checker (estimate only) or see the STR hub.
