Eligible owners of private diesel vehicles buy diesel at RM2.10 a litre with their MyKad. The 300-litre monthly limit is shared with BUDI95, and pickup or jeep owners can apply for 100 extra litres.
BUDI MADANI Diesel (BUDI Diesel) lets eligible owners of private diesel vehicles buy diesel at the subsidised price of RM2.10 a litre using their MyKad. According to the Ministry of Finance (MOF), more than 700,000 users qualify.
It replaced the BUDI Diesel Individu cash aid (RM200 a month since 2024), according to the BUDI MADANI FAQ updated by the MOF on 30 June 2026.
Who qualifies for BUDI Diesel
You may qualify if:
- you are a Malaysian citizen with a MyKad and an active driving licence (competent, probationary or learner licence for the listed classes);
- you are the registered owner of a private diesel vehicle in your own name;
- the vehicle has an active motor vehicle licence (road tax).
People who do not own a diesel vehicle cannot buy subsidised diesel, even if they hold a driving licence or drive someone else's diesel vehicle.
A 300-litre monthly limit, shared with BUDI95
From 1 September 2026, the basic BUDI MADANI monthly limit went back up from 200 to 300 litres, according to an MOF statement dated 31 August 2026. Eligible diesel owners use the same limit for both RON95 and diesel, as they need.
Each transaction is capped at RM250. Your receipt shows how much of your limit you have used and what is left.
Pickups and jeeps can apply for 100 extra litres
The MOF says more than half a million eligible owners of private diesel pickups and jeeps can apply for an extra 100 litres a month, bringing their limit to 400 litres. Applications are made on the BUDI MADANI portal. Owners approved earlier were moved to 400 litres automatically from 1 September 2026.
Owning more than one pickup or jeep does not raise your monthly limit. E-hailing drivers who receive the e-hailing allocation cannot also receive the pickup or jeep top-up.
How to buy subsidised diesel at the pump
- Verify your eligibility with your physical MyKad at the terminal or counter, or through a selected app. In the app, choose the BUDI MADANI module and enter the station, pump number and amount.
- State the amount in ringgit, for example RM50.
- Fill up. Only the amount actually pumped is deducted from your balance.
Transferring the entitlement to a family member
An eligible owner can transfer the right to buy subsidised diesel to one close family member who qualifies for BUDI95. The application is made on the BUDI MADANI portal. After the transfer, the original owner can no longer buy subsidised diesel with their own MyKad.
Check your eligibility only on the official portal
All eligibility checks, transaction records and applications are handled at www.budimadani.gov.my. Type the address yourself into your browser. In April 2026 the MOF denied viral claims about extra BUDI95 applications, so do not trust links in messages.
